JOSEPH JANOUEIX FAMILY


At the end of the last century, Jean JANOUEIX, born in Combressol ( Corrèze) in 1867 starts the business of wines.
In 1898, he decided to be a trader in " Meymac near Bordeaux " He canvassed Brittany and constituted a faithful clientele thanks to the quality of the proposed products there.
Later, he urged his four sons and his son-in-law on to join him to develop his company.
Six persons to travel in France : what a good task force !
His son Joseph Janoueix followed him faithfully in his commercial ideas and became aware of the necessity of becoming an owner.
In 1930, he acquired Château Haut-Sarpe in the area of famous Classified Vineyards near Saint-Emilion. A little later, he added Château La Croix and La Croix Saint Georges, near Pomerol to his patrimony
In 1932, he founded his own business company, began the restoration of the domain and enlarged his wine patrimony.
Today, the surface of the big vineyards belonging to the four sons of Jean JANOUEIX and to their descendants exceeds 300 hectares.
All are “ appellation contrôlée” Pomerol, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Montagne-Saint-Emilion, Saint Georges ,Saint Emilion, Canon-Fronsac, Fronsac, Lalande-de-Pomerol, Côtes de Castillon, Bordeaux Supérieur.
Two years later, Joseph Janoueix married Marie-Antoinette Estrade, capable and noble-hearted woman of action.
Jean-François Janoueix, their son, succeeded to his father at the head of the company and to the visit of the clientele which he widened to the whole world.
With his wife Françoise he acquired, in 1978, Château Castelot in Saint Emilion, an old dwelling-place where Henry IV stayed, as it is said.
In Château Haut Sarpe in Saint-Emilion, wine-producing fief of Joseph Jannoueix family he protected the Compostellan spirit by offering a shelter to the pilgrims going to Saint Jacques de Compostelle, what it has always been
Each of the wine storehouses of Joseph Janoueix Domains is a real museum dedicated to the glory of famous wines and to the very ancient traditions of wine growing and associated activities
Nowadays , out of three generations, the family remains nearest and dearest and the company keeps on perfecting.
Françoise Janoueix, Jean-François ‘ charming wife is responsible for exports and finances.
 Jean-Pierre Janoueix the eldest son, is in charge of the office in London, canvasses the Scandinavian countries and the USA.
He is the owner of Château Gasparde; important property in the Côtes de Castillon.

 Jean-Philippe Janoueix, the youngest brother, is the talented owner of the following Châteaux : La Confession (St Emilion Grand Cru), Croix Mouton and Le Conseiller (Bordeaux Supérieur). He has been dedicated "Wine grower of the year ". At the same time, he manages the "Léonard Estrade" and " Top Wine Only " Companies.
Marie-Josèphe Chabut-Janoueix, Jean-François‘ sister is also active in the business management
His son, Henry Chabut-Janoueix, awarded a diploma in wine growing and oenology, helps the Maître de chai Arnaud Martin and the leader of culture Jacky Bonneau. Henry resumed the clientele of his grandfather in Brittany and in Normandy. He is the owner of Château Franc-Cantenac ( St Emilion Grand Cru), Rose Saint Georges ( Saint Georges Saint Emilion ) and Saint Genès (Cotes de Castillon)

Olivier Badia, son-in-law of Marie-Josèphe Chabut-Janoueix
takes part in the sales force in France and in Belgium.

Jean-Joseph Limoujoux-Janoueix,
Son of Marie-Françoise Limoujoux-Janoueix, has just joined the Company as sales manager, mainly for fairs and exhibitions

Frédéric Chevrier,
son-in-law of Marie-Josèphe Chabut-Janoueix,
chose to leave the Bank business to join enthusiastically this beautiful team.
